Google has announced Android 2.0 Eclair, and anyone with any doubts about the platform’s prowess should take a look at the changelist to see just how serious the search giant is.  OS 2.0 brings with it support for multiple simultaneous Google and Exchange accounts, together with quick contact menus for speedier access to different methods of communication.  There’s also a unified email inbox and SMS/MMS search.

Archos Announces Android Phone Launch

Archos, after surprising many with the announcement that it will be introducing an Android based Internet Media Tablet, has given away details on when we'll finally be able to get our hands on it.

According to recently produced financial results, the company is set to launch the telephony-enabled Android phone in Q3, which means it could very well land before the previous September release date.

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync push email to the G1

The latest beta release of TouchDown has added Exchange ActiveSync push email support for the G1. While the push support is currently limited to the latest beta release, it is also expected to be available in the next stable release, which means current (non-beta) users should hopefully see the upgraded features soon.

As far as what features that you can expect, TouchDown will allow the user to;

  • Compose and send Email
  • Reply to, Reply All and Forward your email
  • Delete Email messages
  • Move emai...
