Why is google marketing the nexus 10 to have the worlds highest resolution display?

It has 300 PPI and the iPad 4 has 332 PPI. Googled. Oh lol I didn’t know the iPad had a lower PPI than the iPhone. I thought they had the same PPI. iPhone still the best! Read more >>

HTC ditches ‘quietly brilliant’ tagline as company bolsters marketing budget

HTC’s “quietly brilliant” tagline has sevred the company well over the years, but HTC’s new chief marketing officer, Benjamin Ho, thinks it’s time for things to change. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Ho revealed that HTC will be retiring the company tagline and changing its marketing strategy by cranking up the volume. We have a lot of innovations but we haven’t been loud enough.Benjamin HoHTC While HTC’s social media has been making a lot of noise about #theNextBigFlop from Samsung, HTC will most likely be focusing the majority of its time and money on traditional ads that show off the numerous consumers benefits of the HTC One. HTC’s marketing team will have a lot more money to work with in 2013. The company’s Read more >>

T-Mobile un-leashes new #simplechoice marketing campaign

Today T-Mobile announced several bold moves in an attempt to become America’s “Un-carrier.” As expected, they are ending contracts and device subsidies, offering simple unlimited plans, rolling out their new 4G LTE network, and offering the iPhone 5. “These bold moves serve notice that T-Mobile is canceling its membership in the out-of-touch wireless club,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile USA, Inc. “This is an industry filled with ridiculously confusing contracts, limits on how much data you can use or when you can upgrade, and monthly bills that make little sense. As America’s Un-carrier, we are changing all of that and bringing common sense to wireless.” We are huge fans of pre-paid wireless plans and unlocked devices, and I Read more >>

HTC no longer ‘quietly brilliant’? Company drops tagline from marketing efforts

While many would agree that HTC hasn’t made much noise in the industry over the past couple of years, most would concur that their marketing hasn’t been so brilliant. It’s appropriate, then, that the company will retire the tagline “Quietly Brilliant” moving forward and instead focus on a “bolder” approach to marketing. “We haven’t been [...] Read more >>

HTC One marketing kicks into high gear with new commercials and music video cameo appearance

Based on your comments, it looks like the HTC One will certainly be a hit (if they can actually get it into stores). The device sports an amazing design and comes with a handful of software and hardware features which make it stand out from the crowd. While we still don’t have a retail launch date for the HTC One in the U.S. market and we’re seeing delays in the handset’s global roll-out  that’s not stopping HTC from flipping the switch on its marketing efforts. Over the past few days, two HTC One commercials have hit YouTube along with a new music video from Hollaphonic in which the HTC One is shown off more than a dozen times. The HTC One BoomSound ad is our favorite since it clearly shows how front-facing stereo speakers are a better option than the Read more >>

AT&T engages in ironic marketing spat with T-Mobile

Well, this is quite interesting. It wasn’t that long ago that AT&T and T-Mobile were all buddy-buddy as the former tried to swallow the latter up in a major (but eventually failed) acquisition deal, but it looks like the status quo has been restored. AT&T has released a new newspaper ad — with full-page spaces in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today — showing “the truth about T-Mobile’s network” compared to its own. AT&T notes how T-Mobile has twice as many dropped calls, twice as many failed calls, and 50% slower data then its own network. AT&T’s data claims might be a tad substantiated considering the growing 4G LTE network it’s building, but those claims won’t last long as T-Mobile is just about Read more >>

Survey: Most devs not making money from apps, spend $0 on marketing

If you spend it, they will come. That’s the message App Promo received loud and clear in their First Annual Development Survey. A whopping 52% of developers have absolutely no money set aside for marketing their applications, and the same percentage spends 5% of their time or less promoting their applications. This is despite 91% of developers believing that marketing is the key to app success. As a result, nearly 80% of developers don’t generate enough revenue to support a standalone business. By contrast, there are about 12% of the developer population currently earning $50,000 or more in revenue. The top earners have one thing in common: marketing. The top earners spend about 14% of their time on marketing alone, and their marketing budgets tend to average around Read more >>
